A New Song for the Browns: First in Booze First in Shoes

The song First in Booze First in Shoes celebrates the long ago but still loved Saint Louis Browns. More than six decades have passed, but the Saint Louis Fans Browns Club keeps alive their beloved Browns who were the hapless Fun Team Number 1 in Major League History. Phil Coley brings the Browns to life through his voice. The melody is endearing and helps enshire the song in the hearts of baseball fans everywhere. Phil Coley is the artist and producer of the song. Joe Pickering Jr. is the songwriter. King of the Road Music is the music publisher. Enjoy this song!

FIRST IN BOOZE FIRST IN SHOES

OUR BROWNS WERE THE YANKEES OF THEIR DAY
WELL, THEY COULD'VE BEEN BUT THEY TRADED AWAY
ALL OUR STAR PLAYERS THOUGH WE DID SCREAM
DOWN THEY WENT THE OPPOSITE OF A DREAM TEAM

CHORUS

FIRST IN BOOZE, FIRST IN SHOES LAST IN THE A.L.
THEY LOOKED LIKE HEAVEN BUT PLAYED LIKE HELL
WHY DID WE THEN,WHY DO WE NOW LOVE THEM SO?
THIS ANSWER ALL BROWN FANS SHOULD KNOW
LIKE AN OLD HOUND DOG WITH FLEAS ON HIS SKIN
OUR BROWNS TRIED SO HARD TO SCRATCH OUT A WIN

NUMBER ONE IN LAUGHTER NUMBER ONE IN MIRTH
GOD BLESS OUR BROWNS THEY WERE WORTH
MORE THAN CHAMPIONSHIPS WE COULD'VE WON
THEY'LL LIVE IN OUR HEARTS 'TIL OUR DAYS ARE DONE

EVEN AFTER WE ALL ARE LONG GONE
THE MEMORY OF OUR BROWNS WILL LIVE ON
WHENEVER, WHEREVER THERE'S BASEBALL FUN
THEY'LL REMAIN THE CHAMPS FUN TEAM NUMBER ONE

REPEAT CHORUS
